Biography
Michael Pettes leads the Nanoscale Thermal Transport Laboratory at UConn. He earned his B.S. from Duke University in 2001, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and 2011, respectively, all in Mechanical Engineering. Among his honors, he received the NSF CAREER Award in 2016, the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship in 2006, and the Harrington Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. His research focuses on development of fundamental knowledge of electronic and thermal transport phenomena in nanoscale materials with applications for the management, interconversion, and storage of thermal energy.
