Joel Voldman
Biography
Joel Voldman received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1995. He received the M.S and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT in 1997 and 2001. Following a postdoc at Harvard Medical School, he returned to MIT as an Assistant Professor in EECS in 2002. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2013. Among several awards, he has received an NSF CAREER award, an ACS Young Innovator Award, a Bose Fellow award, and several teaching awards. His research focuses on developing microtechnology for cell biology and for medicine.
