Wayne Pferdehirt
Wayne is director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering’s graduate engineering distance degree programs. Currently the College offers eight online Master degrees to off-campus students, with several additional programs under development. In addition to these broader responsibilities, Wayne has served as program director for UW’s Master of Engineering Management program since the program’s launch in 1998. MEM has graduated over 400 mid-career engineering leaders and has won several major awards for educational quality from the Sloan Consortium, the University Continuing Education Association, and the U.S. Distance Learning Association. Wayne co-teaches the program’s Technical Project Management course. Wayne also serves as co-director of the Printers’ National Environmental Assistance Center, an EPA-funded center that helps printers improve their environmental performance. Prior to joining UW–Madison, Wayne directed the Midwest solid waste consulting services of Camp Dresser & McKee, and led energy conservation research projects for Argonne National Laboratory.
