Laurel Riek
Laurel Riek is the Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interests include robotics, social signal processing, and healthcare informatics. In robotics/SSP, she designs autonomous robot behaviors that enable effective collaborations with people. In healthcare informatics, her research is in medical simulation and pervasive health. Riek received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and B.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon, and worked for eight years as a Senior AI Engineer/Roboticist at MITRE. She has received the NSF CAREER award, a Qualcomm Research Award, and numerous MITRE awards.
