Roseanna Zia
Dr. Zia is an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a Morgan Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow at Cornell University. She received her Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in 2011, specializing in the theory of colloidal hydrodynamics. Dr. Zia subsequently conducted post-doctoral research in colloidal gels at Princeton University. Prior to her studies at Caltech she worked as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry. Zia’s research focuses on the micromechanics of complex fluids, via a combination of theory and dynamic simulation. Zia teaches undergraduate fluid mechanics and a graduate course in low-Reynolds number hydrodynamics and suspension mechanics.
