Biography

Alice M. Agogino is the Roscoe and Elizabeth Hughes Professor of Mechanical Engineering and is affiliated faculty at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley. She directs the BEST (Berkeley Energy and Sustainability Technologies) Lab and is a member of the Berkeley Institute of Design and the Consortium for Green Design and Manufacturing. Agogino served as Chair of the UC Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate and has served in a number of other administrative positions at UC Berkeley.

She also served as Director for Synthesis, an NSF-sponsored coalition of eight universities with the goal of reforming undergraduate engineering education, and continues as PI for Engineering Pathway educational digital library. Agogino is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and has served on a number of NAE committees. Agogino has authored over 230 peer-reviewed publications and has won numerous teaching, mentoring, best paper and research awards.
